  • East Bluff Community Center Board Opportunity

Formed in 2013, The East Bluff Community Center (EBCC) is a 501(c)3 (not for profit) organization located in the heart of Peoria's East Bluff neighborhood at 512 E Kansas St. Peoria, IL. The Center leases the 100+ year old, former St Bernard's grade school building and serves as home to numerous agencies providing much needed services, programs, and activities for an area of the city that is comprised of primarily low income residents.  In 2018, over 31,000 residents were served at the Center, which  has operated with volunteer labor since its inception.

In 2019, with 6 years of expanded services and significant increases in the number and quality of programs and overall participation, the Board launched an  aggressive growth strategy, which includes a $1.5M fundraising campaign, the hiring of a full time paid executive director, and funding and completion of the first round of major building improvements.  To date, a little over $500K has been committed by private and public sector funds and the Board remains committed to implementing that plan.

One other element of the growth strategy is the continuous broadening of Board skills and experience.  In that light, the Board is currently seeking an accountant to add to its ranks to help provide greater financial oversight of this growing organization.

We are reaching out to the local IMA membership and asking if any member would be interested in pursuing a Board seat with EBCC.

Contact Board President Tim Cunningham at 309.253.7581 to explore the opportunity or to learn more about The EBCC
